Description
The Fabrication Painter will utilize tools and equipment in preparing surfaces to be painted by sanding or rubbing as required. Move and stage parts in and out of the work area, load and unload parts to paint, identify and label parts correctly, and paint parts correctly. They will also operate the paint line conveyor system, Paint booths, spray guns, related treatment tanks, burn off ovens, curing ovens, and other related equipment under the direction of the supervisor or Team Lead. In this function you will: Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material , written and/or oral instructions. Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas. Provide assistance to higher-level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required. Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion. Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components. Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record-keeping may be required. Operate spotwelders, punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Apply powder paint and shear various types of material to proper size. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems. Develop job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
