POSITION SUMMARY

This cross functional position is responsible for planning work through use of shop travelers, coordinating materials for use on the manufacturing floor, and managing fabrication work readiness windows for multiple builds, phases, and teams. The individual ensures that all fabrication work is well-planned, materials are staged, and work begins only when fully ready. This role is critical to achieving high quality, efficient, and traceable fabrication aligned with quality manufacturing and customer requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or Supply Chain (Bachelor’s preferred). Additional relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 5+ years in fabrication planning, material control, or manufacturing coordination (piping skids, pressure vessels, structural builds, or similar)
  • Must be able to read and interpret fabrication drawings, BOMs, weld maps, and travelers
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001, NQA-1, ASME, and traceability requirements for nuclear or critical-service equipment is preferred but not required.

KEY SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office is required. Preference for scheduling software experience (e.g. Microsoft Projects)
  • Expert in coordinating complex fabrication builds with multiple dependencies
  • Detail-oriented, high organized, and effective cross-department communicator
  • Able to operate in fast-paced, high-accountability environments with minimal oversight
  • Ability to lift 50 pound and other medium intensity physical activities
    All candidates must be able to pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed fabrication books based on engineered drawings, bill of materials (BOM’s), travelers, and work breakdown structures (WBS)
  • Create logical build sequences, breaking complex assemblies into phases and subassemblies
  • Interpret material takeoffs (MTOs) and BOMs to ensure all required materials are ordered, tracked, and available
  • Maintain traceability for all materials, ensuring alignment with quality documentation. Coordinate with receipt and inspection, tag and stage materials per build phase and fabrication priority.
  • Serve as the central point of material coordination among project management, procurement, quality assurance, fabrication, and project teams.
