Description
Position Overview We are currently hiring a Fabrication Technician / Welder to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position is responsible for metal fabrication, MIG welding, material preparation, and operating shop equipment to build products according to specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate has prior fabrication experience, can read prints, and is comfortable working with hand tools and production equipment. Primary Duties Review blueprints, drawings, and production instructions to complete fabrication work. Perform MIG welding on steel and stainless materials. Cut, fit, form, and assemble metal components to meet dimensional requirements. Prepare and shape sheet metal using fabrication tools and machinery. Inspect measurements and verify quality using gauges, rulers, and measuring devices. Operate shop equipment including brake press, shear, plasma cutter, welding machines, grinders, drill press, band saw, and other fabrication equipment. Assist with layout, material preparation, and assembly activities. Communicate with supervisors regarding completed work and inspection readiness. Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Support additional shop duties as needed. Experience & Skills Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment. Familiarity with fabrication tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment. Ability to read blueprints, prints, and tape measurements. Experience operating forklifts is helpful. Understanding of quality procedures and shop safety practices. Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced setting. Good communication and dependability are important for success in this role. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and move throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Preferred Background Welding certifications are a plus. Forklift certification preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
