Description Sets up and operates special purpose machines to fabricate metal roofing and/or HVAC parts to be able to fulfill customer orders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES (These and other duties may/may not be assigned) Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials, move containers or open containers. Able to understand work order schematics and sketches. Understands metal types, gauges, and materials. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Operates numerous metal fabrication machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Assists with the counting, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Fabricates products to specific dimensions and quantities. Adheres to all company safety practices and procedures. Stacks of assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, cleans work area, machines, and equipment. Operates forklift or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products; moves levers and presses peals to drive lift and control movement of lifting apparatus. Ensures products are handled in accordance to established standards. Loads, unloads, straightens, and organizes products during production. Controls and accounts for materials in order to minimize loss and damage. Additional duties as assigned or required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES None required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; have finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use sense of smell. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The warehouse space is not climate controlled.
