Role summary
The Fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical drawings, welding, machining, and performing hands-on assembly work to produce precise, high-quality fixtures that meet engineering specifications. This position ensures that all fabrication work contributes to continuous improvement, increased efficiency, and the successful rollout of automated solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Independent management of Jigs Department.
• Assembling and welding of new jigs.
• Reading and understanding the blueprints and drawings prior to commencement to ensure accurate results.
• Support the Automation and Improvements department by manufacturing custom fixtures and equipment designed by engineers.
• Transforming designs into physical components.
• Collaboration with stores to collect correct material.
• Measure and cut parts where needed from specifications provided.
• Ensure that all jigs are cut and joined to precision for effortless installation.
• Meeting daily targets and ensuring that the production schedule is met.
• Ad-hoc duties as requested by Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 (Beneficial)
• Trade Tested in Welding (Ideal)
• Overhead Crane License (Training Available)
• Forklift License (Training Available)
