JOB DESCRIPTION

We are an established and busy steel fabrication and erection company based in Dundee. Due to retirement, we are looking for qualified and experienced Fabricator -Supervisor to join our team. The successful applicants must have previous experience in a supervisory role within the steel trade. The position is full time and permanent with competitive rates of pay depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong supervisory experience, ability to communicate effectively.
• Structural steel fabrication experience.
• Structural steel MIG welding experience with suitable qualifications.
• Competent in the use of overhead cranes.
• Understanding of workplace safety Regulations and procedures.

• 5 years (Preferred)

• Supervising a team Fabricators, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
• Fabricating and welding components according to specifications and engineering drawings.
• Accurately measuring and setting, working to close tolerances.
• Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Working efficiently to meet deadlines.
• MIG welding to a high standard, free from defects and weld splatter.
• Inspecting all work ensuring it meets quality standards and addressing any issues or defects.
• Moving steelwork around workshop using overhead cranes.
• Keeping equipment in good working order - daily inspecting of all plant and equipment and reporting any defects to company management.
• Ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy, general good housekeeping.
• Promoting and enforcing safety protocols, complying with all company policies and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Training and mentoring team members, improving their skills and ensuring that the have the necessary knowledge to perform their duties.
• Organising, directing and supervising jobs as required by company management.
• Checking quantities and quality of job items prior to dispatch.
• Ensuring that standards of timekeeping and safe working are always maintained
