Ferguson Corporation is seeking skilled and motivated Fabricators who bring experience, attention to detail, and pride in their craft. As a key contributor to our manufacturing and production operations, you will be hands-on in creating and assembling high-performance glazing and building envelope systems that are installed on some of Calgary’s most prominent buildings.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING: THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS TO SUCCEED

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Hands-On Experience: Several years of experience in aluminum fabrication, architectural metalwork, glazing systems, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Technical Ability: Familiarity with shop drawings, saw operations, material optimization, and complex fabrication processes; ability to perform accurate measurements and cuts with consistency.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision, product quality, and safe work practices.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Willingness to mentor others, contribute to team goals, and maintain open communication with supervisors and peers.
  • Software Familiarity: Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for tracking tasks and referencing documents.
  • Adaptability: Ability to stay productive in a changing, deadline-driven environment, while upholding high quality and safety standards.
  • Nice to Have: Forklift certification, First Aid/CPR, Valid driver’s license, Knowledge of glazing systems (curtain wall, flushline, skylight, unitized)
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This is a hands-on, fast-paced, and quality-driven role with an emphasis on precision, planning, and teamwork.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Fabrication & Material Prep: Read and interpret fabrication sheets, shop drawings, and cut lists; perform accurate cutting, drilling, and assembly of glazing components to specification.
  • Work Area Ownership: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation; set up and break down work areas and machinery; perform routine maintenance as required.
  • Workflow & Material Management: Coordinate incoming and outgoing materials efficiently to meet production schedules; maximize material usage and minimize waste through careful planning.
  • QA/QC & Safety Compliance: Ensure all products meet quality standards; perform inspections and report defects or non-conformance issues; participate actively in safety protocols and reporting.
  • Mentorship & Teamwork: Collaborate with supervisors and lead hands on production priorities; support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Technical Expertise: Operate machinery safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, including chop saws and specialized fabrication tools; troubleshoot and assist with setup of more complex tasks as needed.
