JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various fitting tasks, including the assembly and installation of components. This role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and working with hand tools, as well as knowledge of ductwork and welding techniques. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all components fit together accurately and function effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various machinery and tools effectively.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with ductwork installation techniques is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fitting tasks.
  • Experience with machining processes is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Journeyperson tickets, preferably as pipefitter
  • Valid drivers licence

Responsibilities
  • Layout pipe and rolled plate cuts, including branch connections
  • Cut using plasma torch and related equipment
  • Fit-up of pipe, flanges, rolled plate and similar materials
  • Tacking of fit assemblies, or working with welders to complete tacking
  • Trial fit of completed assemblies
  • Operating and maintaining power tools, machinery and equipment
  • To support other departments as and when required
  • Additional responsibilities to support general fabrication, as assigned by supervisors
  • Ability to work swing shift (rotating day / night shifts) or optional permanent nights
