Description A fabricator is a skilled professional responsible for constructing metal structures and components by cutting, bending, and assembling processes. This position is essential in manufacturing, construction, and other industries where metal fabrication is required. Responsibilities Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts using tools such as saws, shears, and flame cutters. Operate machinery such as press brake, shear, saw, iron worker, and welding equipment to produce metal components. Ensure components meet specifications by measuring and inspecting completed work. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements. Plan and lay out work according to specifications. Weld components using appropriate welding techniques to create strong, precise joints. Assemble fabricated parts into finished products, ensuring accuracy and functionality. Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, adjusting as necessary. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Work with engineers, designers, and other team members to resolve fabrication issues. Provide feedback on design and fabrication processes to improve efficiency and quality. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field is a plus. Experience with various metalworking tools and machinery (press brake, shear, ironworker). Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings. Skilled in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc, etc.). Strong attention to detail and precision in work. Good physical stamina and dexterity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues. Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
