We are seeking a skilled Fabricator / Machinist to join our team in Southwest Harbor, ME. TIG and MIG welding various materials including but not limited to stainless steel and aluminum. · Prepare materials such as stainless steel and aluminum for fabrication, including cutting to size, grinding, deburring and polishing to a mirror finish. · Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. · Operate machine shop and fabrication equipment such as lathes, milling machines, band saws, hydraulic presses, air tools, and grinders. · Read and interpret measurements from machine shop inspection equipment including calipers and micrometers. · Identify customer requirements for unique fabrication projects and deliver creative solutions to meet their specifications. · Conduct routine maintenance on machine shop equipment. · Preferred but not required: Set up and operate a CNC plasma table, 3d modeling and CNC programming. Requirements High School Diploma/GED required. Vocational Degree/Certificate in Metal Technology preferred.
Responsibilities
The Fabricator/Machinist will prepare materials for fabrication, operate machine shop equipment, and deliver creative solutions for unique projects. Routine maintenance on equipment will also be part of the responsibilities.
