Description
Position Summary: The Fabricator is responsible for assisting and providing general labor to production to aid in the manufacturing of MEI products.    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Prepare material for the next process step.  This includes deburring plastic, drill and tapping holes, straightening tubing, and cutting material to length. * Preparing all parts and sub-assemblies for work to be accomplished using assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists. * Assembling by measuring for the proper location and fastening parts to assemblies. * Assist the CNC operator in loading and unloading material on the router table. * Keep manufacturing free of debris and dirt by sweeping, collecting trash, and collecting and sorting recycling. * Assist the materials group with the kitting of project parts when needed. * Perform other duties as assigned.   Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education): * High School diploma or equivalent preferred. * Minimum 2 years’ general labor experience preferably within a manufacturing environment. * Good understanding of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words; and correct grammatical structure. * Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints. * Ability to use multiple different types of hand tools. * Able to follow verbal and written work instruction. * Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to climb, stand; walk; sit; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to adjust straps, move equipment and perform daily duties; reach with hands and arms; push feet to operate crane; pull handles and grasp equipment; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
