Description
The Fabricator Operator will perform fabrication work on a repetitive and/or non-repetitive basis such as drill, tap, sand, rivet, grind, spot weld, shear, apply powder paint, solder, operate punch presses, iron worker, stabwelder, load/unload paintline, assist in upkeep/maintenance of equipment, etc Assist higher - level operators in their work as directed / required. In this function you will: A. Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material , written and/or oral instructions. B. Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas. C. Provide assistance to higher-level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required. D. Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion. E. Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components. F. Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record-keeping may be required. G. Operate spotwelders, punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Apply powder paint and shear various types of material to proper size. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems. H. Maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems. I. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion; keeping oil deposits off of floor. J. Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified. D. Develop job safety analysis and safe working procedures. E. Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions. F. Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations. G. Keep other employees aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety. H. Maintain housekeeping in work area. I. Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order. J. Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received. K. Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement. L. Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.
