Job Title: Welder / Fabricator
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire (Workshop-based with on-site work as required)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
Holiday Allowance: 20 days annual leave + bank holidays

Taywel Engineering is a small but growing family-run structural steel company based in Hull. We deliver high-quality fabrication and installation services for a wide range of clients, including regular projects for the NHS across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, and Goole.
Our workshops have the capability to manufacture steel structures up to 1000 tonnes, giving us the flexibility to deliver projects of all scales – from smaller bespoke fabrications to large-scale structural steel frameworks.
We are now looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This role will involve both workshop-based fabrication and on-site installation of structural steelwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and welding of structural steel components in the workshop.
  • Carrying out site installations, repairs, and modifications.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations.
  • Working as part of a team to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in MIG/MAG welding and fabrication of structural steel.
  • Must have previously held valid MIG welding codes (re-coding will be required upon successful appointment).
  • Ability to work both in the workshop and on construction sites.
  • Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Must be a UK resident.
  • Strong focus on health and safety.

Desirable

  • Ability to attend site surveys and take accurate measurements.
  • CSCS card or other relevant site safety certification.
  • IPAF, PASMA, or similar qualifications.
  • Experience operating workshop machinery (saws, drills, plasma cutters, etc.).
