Job Title: Fabricator / Plater
Location: Devonport, Plymouth
Pay Rate: £19.45 - £24.31 per hour (dependent on experience and shift)
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Security Clearance: Required (UK Nationals only)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in fabrication and plating, ideally in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industry
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Fabrication & Welding (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of health & safety requirements, including working in restricted areas
  • UK Security Clearance (or willingness to undergo clearance process) – UK Nationals only
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are recruiting experienced Fabricators / Platers on behalf of a prestigious client based in Devonport, Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on critical defence infrastructure within a world-class naval engineering environment.
As a Fabricator / Plater, you will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of structural components, supporting the maintenance and refit of naval vessels and submarines. You will work from engineering drawings and technical specifications, ensuring high standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical plans
  • Mark out, cut, shape, and assemble structural steel components
  • Carry out plating and fabrication tasks using a range of tools and machinery
  • Operate safely in confined spaces and adhere to all health and safety procedures
  • Work as part of a team to meet project deadlines
  • Carry out quality checks and rectify any issues in fabrication processes
  • Support welding and other metalwork operations as required
