JOB TITLE: FABRICATOR/WELDER

Location: Alcester, B49 (Relocating to Toddington in March 2026)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour (DOE)
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:00, Friday 08:00 – 14:00
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Fabricator/Welder to join a well-established engineering team based in Alcester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to become an integral part of a growing manufacturing operation equipped with a modern 18,000 sq. ft. fabrication facility.
Please note: The business is planning to relocate to Toddington around March 2026, and candidates must be willing to commute or relocate accordingly.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will play a key role in managing and operating metal fabrication equipment including a 3.2m x 125T press brake, 3kW fiber laser, and welding bays. You’ll work closely with a CNC machining team, sharing knowledge and learning cross-functional skills to help support each other during holidays and busy periods. This role requires both hands-on expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the safe and efficient use of the brake press and fiber laser.
  • Carry out high-standard MIG/TIG welding and general fabrication.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver production outputs on time.
  • Order material stock and manage consumables for efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with CNC machinists to support cross-functional tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Follow and promote company health & safety and quality standards (ISO 9001).
  • Accurately log time and project updates on internal systems.
  • Take part in administrative tasks as required for production tracking.
  • Provide input on process improvements and vendor recommendations.
  • Share knowledge and assist in training less experienced team members.
