DESCRIPTION:

We’re seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Program Facilitators at The Belconnen Community Centre. This flexible position offers the opportunity to work in a casual, part-time, or contractor capacity, allowing you to tailor your schedule to fit your lifestyle.
As a Program Facilitator, you’ll be at the heart of our centre’s activities, programs, and events, interacting with community members of all ages and backgrounds. From energetic basketball games to serene yoga sessions, from creative crafting workshops or photography explorations to relaxing pottery classes or anything in between, if you have a unique talent, it could be the next big hit at our Community Centre. We’re all about getting people involved, social, and active. Let us know what you’re passionate about, and we’ll work together to bring it to life for others to enjoy and you’ll have the chance to facilitate a diverse range of activities that cater to everyone’s interests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Enthusiasm for organizing and facilitating activities, programs, and events that promote social interaction, fun, creativity, and well-being.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate others.
Creativity and adaptability to tailor activities to the interests and preferences of the community.
Previous experience in program facilitation, community engagement, event planning, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications in fitness, art, dance, music, food handling and cooking experience are highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

Engage with community members in a friendly and welcoming manner, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of activities, programs, and events designed to appeal to different age groups and interests.
Deliver high quality programs to participants with a focus on creating a safe, fun, inclusive, friendly and engaging environment,
Actively promote upcoming sessions and events within the community to encourage participation and attendance.
Provide assistance and support to participants as needed, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported throughout their experience.
Collaborate with colleagues to brainstorm new ideas and initiatives to enhance the overall community centre experience and supporting the organisation with any additional and relevant tasks as directed by their supervisor.
Identify, report and respond to hazards or incidents within the centre - Work with the marketing team to promote and grow program participation
