We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Facilities Aircraft Cleaner.
Reporting to the Facilities Lead Hand or Facilities Manager, the Facilities Aircraft Cleaner ensures that all assigned areas of the aircraft are cleaned appropriately, hangars are tidy, and floors are clean.

TRAINING/EDUCATION:

  • Three years of cleaning experience;
  • 3 years in the workforce.
  • Holder of a valid B.C. driver’s license;
    *Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency)
Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly morning meetings, to determine the work load that needs be done on each aircraft;
  • Communicate with the Lead Hand and aircraft cleaners as to when and where the cleaning job needs to be done;
  • Ensure that the area is available to be cleaned and if any area needs touching up due to Maintenance task performed, by communicating with Maintenance Crew Leaders;
  • Use appropriate equipment and cleaning materials for cleaning the aircraft; · Ensure that the area being cleaned has been completed by maintenance;
  • Clean inside and outside the aircraft so that the inspections may be carried out or prior to final delivery to the customer;
  • Clean parts taken off the aircraft;
  • Clean the hangar/facility once all aircraft duties have been completed, and as needed;
  • Ensure all paperwork, documentation and reporting associated with the aircraft cleaning is completed accurately and in accordance with Conair’s Maintenance and Manufacturing Manual (MMPM), Quality Control Procedures (QCPM), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process Standards (CPS);
  • Ensure all work tasks are performed in accordance with Conair’s Health and Safety policies and procedures;
  • Ensure proper safety equipment (PPE), such as gloves, coveralls, respirators, eye and ear protection are worn especially when handling hazardous materials;
  • Make co-workers aware of hazardous materials being handled in proximity to their workplace;
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures when operating equipment and machinery;
  • Demonstrate by example safety conscious conduct at work; · Clean hangars including oil and chemical spills;
  • Sweep and Wash hangar floors;
  • Empty rag cans in waste drums every night;
  • Collect garbage and empty ashtrays from smoke sheds weekly;
  • Clean emergency showers/eyewash station every Monday;
  • Clean door tracks and corals (hangars 1 & 2) as needed;
  • Check finance and the Executive areas every morning. Put dishes into the dishwasher daily and turn on Friday morning. Empty Monday morning;
  • Clean cupboards and fridges as required;
  • Change pad in hangar 1 green machine every Friday;
  • Clean First Aid rooms every Friday and as needed;
  • Clean and disinfect water fountains daily;
  • Clean, and refill eyewash bottles on the 1st of every month;
  • Check Fire Extinguishers at the end of every month. (H#1, H#2, H#3, building 7, berm, ramp, Training center and paint shop);
  • Collect recycling on a weekly basis;
  • Check Training Center daily, also replenish any coffee or snacks;
  • Check Flight Sim H# 2 daily, also replenish any coffee;
  • Clean Building #7 as required;
  • Wax and Buff floors as required, (summer projects);
  • Variety indoor/outdoor painting projects;
  • Building maintenance duties; · Perform other duties as assigned by your lead hand.
