The Opportunity As the EHS and Facilities Lead, you will be a strategic partner, responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all employees and the environmental compliance of our operations. You will oversee all facility-related activities, ensuring our manufacturing, R&D, and office spaces are safe, efficient, and scalable. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive and dynamic leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and shape the company's long-term EHS and facilities strategy. This is an onsite and in person full time position How You'll Fulfill Your Mission Key responsibilities Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS): Program development: Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique risks of satellite and rocket manufacturing, including handling hazardous materials, high-pressure systems, and propulsion testing. Regulatory compliance: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FAA). Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including reporting requirements and permitting. Risk management: Conduct regular risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and audits to identify and mitigate safety risks across manufacturing, R&D, and test operations. Incident investigation: Lead and manage incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Training and culture: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all employees. Champion and promote a strong, proactive safety culture throughout the organization. Emergency response: Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Action and Emergency Response Plans. Coordinate drills and ensure readiness for all emergency scenarios. Industrial hygiene: Conduct industrial hygiene studies and implement controls for hazards such as chemical exposure, noise, and air quality. Facilities management: Daily operations: Oversee all aspects of facility operations and maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed gases, and security. Infrastructure development: Manage and support facility-related capital improvement projects, from planning and design to construction and commissioning. Maintenance program: Develop and manage a robust preventive and predictive maintenance program for all equipment and building systems. Vendor management: Manage vendor contracts and relationships for janitorial services, landscaping, maintenance, waste management, and other facility services. Scalability: Partner with leadership to plan and execute facility readiness for future expansion, including new manufacturing facilities and specialized test sites. Space planning: Coordinate office and manufacturing space planning, optimizing layouts to support evolving operational needs. Why We Value You Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field. Minimum of [7-10] years of progressive experience in EHS and facilities management within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least [3-5] years in a leadership role. Proven experience in a high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, or advanced technology environment. Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, Cal/EPA) and industry best practices. Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience managing complex, multi-site operations is a plus. Problem-solving: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective, data-driven solutions. The pay range for this role is: $157,200-175,000 The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range in the San Francisco Bay Area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits.
