JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the maintenance and operations of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in supervising various maintenance tasks. This role requires effective leadership skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work with schematics, electrical and plumbing systems. The Facilities Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a facilities maintenance role or similar position.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic electrical/plumbing/maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with supervising teams or projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • A customer service mindset with the ability to engage positively with staff and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure efficient operations of the facility.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct room turns, which would consist of patching and painting drywall, re-caulking of bathrooms and other tasks.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and maintenance schedules.
  • Repair equipment as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Interpret schematics and technical drawings to assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to facility-related inquiries or concerns.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in facility operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
