 FACILITIES ASSOCIATE Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. The Facilities Associate is responsible for performing skilled maintenance duties including but not limited to painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. in all school buildings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  * Safely & properly work around and with electricity & electrical circuitry.  * Repair/Replace fuses, circuit breakers, ballasts, transformers, electric switches, outlets, and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications.   * Replace light bulbs or fluorescent tubes.  Check various pieces of equipment for faulty electrical problems. * Repair or replace faucets, leaky pipes, backed up drains, commodes, water fountains, etc.  * Safely and properly operate a table saw, circular saw, belt sander, drill press, electric hand tools such as a drill, screw gun, sander, etc.   * Familiarity with pneumatic tools and ability to safely & properly use hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, saws, etc.   * Remove or replace broken windows, door hardware, locks, closers, panic devices, etc.  * Assemble various projects and equipment such as shelving units and furniture. * Set up and break down special event equipment such as modular stage, spring floor, etc. * Service and repair appliances such as fans, motors etc.   * Prepare paint, finish surfaces, and equipment using paintbrushes, sanders, scrapers, and other painting tools. * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or equivalent; industry certification/degree preferred * Three (3) years of relevant experience * A valid Georgia driver license with an acceptable driving record. * A working knowledge of accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance and facility support trades. * Ability to comprehend and understand blueprints, diagrams and drawings. * High level of initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision. * Rudimentary knowledge of the construction trades WORKING CONDITIONS: * Ability to regularly stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. * Ability to regularly climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, * Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb, stretch, push, pull, climb ladders and stairs; must be able to withstand heights. * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Work conditions include working outdoors in cold/hot temperatures.
