  • Eight (8) years of related experience
  • Understand construction documents prepared by design professionals
  • Knowledge of building systems and construction
  • Knowledge and experience in construction estimating
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the university Facilities Services Department and P + D + C teams to implement a facility condition assessment program for all university buildings.
  • Develop building condition assessment criteria.
  • Conduct on-site building and systems assessments, and review building construction documents, inclusive of project plans and specifications prepared by design professionals to identify, prioritize, and document deficiencies; apply assessment developed criteria.
  • Create the condition assessment database for all university buildings inclusive of replacement estimated cost.
  • Estimate condition assessment deficiencies and maintain the cost information in the condition assessment database. Maintain the data and update the information yearly to support the development of maintenance and capital budget plans.
  • Support capital project planners and managers by providing cost estimates or reviewing cost estimates for various projects.
  • Mentor and supervise undergraduate engineering students.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of internal procedures.
  • Work under general supervision, performing other assignments as directed.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and support capital project team as it relates to building and systems condition and cost estimating.
  • Interpret and communicate information clearly and accurately. Communicate internally within P + D + C and/or the university. Communicate with external audiences if required.
  • Interpret and communicate information, ideas and instructions clearly and accurately, both verbally and in written materials intended for distribution.
