  • 5+ years of experience in building automation or controls engineering.
  • Proficiency with control platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Controls experience in manufacturing environmentPLC experience with ladder logic, and schematics

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Controls Engineer to oversee and optimize the operation of large-scale building systems, including HVAC, water, utilities, and fire protection systems. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our facility infrastructure through advanced controls and automation. The Controls Engineer will also play a key role in developing project scopes, supporting energy conservation initiatives, and advising on the monitoring and performance of systems such as chilled water, compressed air, natural gas, and tank farms. This position requires strong coordination with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely and compliant execution of facility projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Design, implement, and maintain control systems for heating, cooling, water, and utility infrastructure.
  • Integrate fire protection systems into centralized control platforms.
  • Collaborate with facilities and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, programming logic, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.Support capital projects involving system upgrades or new installations.
