Title: Facilities Coordinator
Reports To: Events Manager

FACILITIES COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:

The Red River Exhibition Association is searching for a dedicated facilities coordinator to join our team. The individual will play a vital role in contributing to our Association’s objective to deliver memorable, year-round events, making a significant impact on Manitoba’s tourism industry.
Our ideal candidate brings energy, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, along with hands-on maintenance experience and attention to detail in facility operations.
Working full-time at Exhibition Park on Portage Avenue west of the Perimeter Highway, you will work closely with the Events Manager and events staff to ensure our facilities are properly maintained and prepared for a wide range of events throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role in the custodial field
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and general safety procedures
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to forecast needs for upcoming events, and quick turnarounds
  • Physical capability for lifting and bending as required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Availability for evening and weekend work
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Forklift certification an asset (not required)
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
    As the chosen candidate, your work schedule will be determined by upcoming events which may include evenings and weekends. During the Red River Exhibition in June, all staff are required to have full availability on-site as it is our largest event of the year. We encourage a flexible schedule for the remainder of the year to allow employees to use any banked overtime as well as any allotted vacation time. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the cleaning and general maintenance of event facilities at Exhibition Park in a safe, compliant manner
  • Work directly with the event coordinator to respond to customer requests
  • Schedule, train, and supervise janitorial staff to ensure work is completed to standard
  • Manage ingress & egress for external events, assisting event management with requirements (may require evening and weekend work)
  • Supervise janitorial staff, ensuring uniforms are worn and duties are performed properly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Exhibition Hall and outdoor facilities located within the park
  • Maintain equipment and inventory, and ordering of all janitorial supplies.
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of event facilities throughout the Park, coordinating with other departments for larger issues
  • Keep accurate records of all SDS sheets, address safety hazards, and ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations
  • Coordinating other tasks working across multi-disciplinary teams as needed with a positive attitude
