Boeing’s STL Engineering organization is currently seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer in Hazelwood, MO to support our operations in St. Louis and the surrounding areas where Boeing maintains facilities in support of production. Our team is hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Specialists.
This role involves working within a dynamic facilities environment that supports critical production operations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in high, medium, and low voltage systems, with a strong focus on maintaining and upgrading aging infrastructure within manufacturing facilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, engineering, and maintenance practices across various facilities and infrastructure systems, including but not limited to architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical publications and/or specifications
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined complex engineering projects across multiple organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Missouri, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (this may be moved to preferred qualifications)
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with commercial or industrial facility systems, including power distribution (high, medium, low voltage), emergency power, and lighting
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, local building codes)
  • Proficiency in design review, cost estimation, and construction project oversight
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies or managing permit and compliance processes
  • Exposure to reliability engineering concepts such as lifecycle assessments, root cause analysis, or condition-based maintenance

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

  • Review and approve detailed design documents to ensure compliance with building codes, electrical regulations, and internal standards
  • Spearhead asset reliability strategies including root cause analysis, life-cycle evaluations, and system modernization efforts
  • Develop and present project plans, budgets, and technical reports to internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies
  • Select materials, equipment, and systems in alignment with engineering best practices and sustainability goals
  • Oversee contractor selection, manage vendor relationships, and ensure on-time, on-budget execution
  • Serve as the technical authority on facility electrical systems, including medium and low voltage distribution, emergency power, lighting, and more
  • Ensure proper documentation, archiving, and permit compliance across projects
  • Mentor junior engineers and represent Boeing on cross-functional engineering teams and technical committees
  • Assist others in the design process by providing input on vendor selection/reviews, regulatory interface with government/non-profit agencies, and project management objectives
  • Use appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project requirements
  • Transmit customer requirements to engineering, provide preliminary materials, equipment, and system design, and develop preliminary project schedules
