Description Hefty Seed Company is a progressive, growing agriculture retailer seeking a mechanically inclined, hands-on technician to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with equipment, troubleshooting problems, and taking ownership of projects. You’ll support facility operations, fleet upkeep, and day-to-day repairs across our ag locations. What You’ll Do: · Perform general facility and grounds maintenance · Complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on trucks, forklifts, and ATVs · Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, equipment, and operational issues · Perform basic welding and fabrication repairs as needed · Coordinate with contractors (electrical, concrete, etc.) on larger projects What We’re Looking For: · Strong work ethic and dependable attitude · Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills required · Experience with welding and basic fabrication preferred · Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision · Background in ag equipment, construction, shop work, or maintenance is a plus · Willingness to learn and handle a wide variety of tasks Schedule & Work Environment: · Full-time position based in Baltic, South Dakota · Hours vary seasonally based on business needs · Peak times may include longer days, Saturdays, and occasional overnights · Primarily outdoor and shop-based work Pay & Benefits: · $23–$30 per hour, depending on experience · A full benefits package, including paid health insurance for employees, dental, PTO, 401K and more Why Join Hefty Seed Company? · Work with a variety of equipment and real-world problem solving · Be part of a growing ag company with long-term stability · Gain experience across facilities, fleet, and operations · No two days are the same—this is not a desk job
