As the Facilities Inspection Engineer you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of facilities inspections program. You will liaise with the Facilities Business Unit to determine requirements of regular inspections of building components. Examples include but are not limited to inspection of exterior façade, roof anchors, ceiling hung equipment such as ducts, pipes, etc. You will manage the engineering inspection program by hiring and managing third party engineering firms and act as a first point of contact to triage the inspection requirements between the City’s various interest holders to determine who would be best to consult and help. You will be expected to create, maintain, and update inspection lists of various buildings components as required to meet best practices in the industry, any relevant building code or standard requirements, as well as to fulfill Facilities operational and preventative maintenance requirements on engineering components. You will also conduct visual assessments on small scale facilities/structures (such as storage sheds and parks washrooms) and prepare lifecycle plan and provide to various internal interest holders as needed.
