Maintenance Technician  Full-Time  Chesapeake, VA $18.00 an hour Join Our Facilities Team at Givens!   Since 1957, Givens has been dedicated to delivering exceptional warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing, crating, and air freight services. As we continue to grow rapidly, we're looking for motivated individuals to help us achieve our mission of excellence. Givens is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our facilities staff. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently or as part of a team, and isn’t afraid to climb a ladder or work at heights when needed. Key Responsibilities: * Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings and equipment across Givens property. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general construction. * Select appropriate tools and techniques to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all local safety regulations. * Report hazardous conditions or unserviceable equipment to supervisor. * Take periodic inventory of maintenance tools and supplies. * Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely project completion. * Work independently when required and manage time effectively. Requirements: * Must not be afraid of heights; ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas is essential. * Minimum of 1 year of experience in general building maintenance, including work with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. * Must be physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 lbs. * Must be comfortable working in physically demanding and sometimes uncomfortable positions.
