JOB DESCRIPTION A Facilities Intern is responsible for the upkeep of the facility by performing various functions such as general plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, and painting to name a few. The following details are not definitive and subject to change based on organizational needs. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assisting current facility staff with projects in various locations. * Clean and maintain common areas of the facility including break rooms, restrooms, stores and warehouse. * Cleaning includes dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, painting etc. * Maintain and perform routine inspections. * Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects. * Follow all health and safety regulations. * Work with other departments when instructed. * Perform other maintenance duties as requested. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED. * Knowledge of hazardous risks with cleaning chemicals and supplies * Strong work ethics & is a great team player. * Able to prioritize tasks and follow procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * At least 1 year of related work experience * Experience using dollies, pallet jacks and forklifts. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted. * Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, sitting, & constant movements of hands to operate tools/machines. * Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed indoors & outdoors with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, and movements of machine/equipment. SALARY EXPECTATIONS Rate $16/hour.
