Facilities Maintenance Manager
The primary function of the Maintenance Manager is to ensure smooth functioning of the plant equipment through preventative maintenance and repair as needed. The maintenance manager is responsible for the overall development, management, and performance of maintenance and equipment operations. Must work closely with plant production manager to ensure continuous production and minimize downtime of equipment. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Education / Experience:

  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Proficient with computers, able to work with various work order programs
  • Proven knowledge of various equipment and machinery, mechanical trades, and utility system

Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the activities of maintenance techs, organizing equipment and materials; evaluating the performance of employees in order to control the quantity and quality of work being performed and to assure completion of work assignments in a correct and timely manner.
  • Ensure proper start-up and shut down of plant daily.
  • Oversee proper maintenance of boiler and water testing in accordance with established schedule.
  • Accurately and quickly troubleshoot plant equipment and/or machinery problems and repair in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures Facility Management team observes safety guidelines and wear safety equipment at all times.
  • Create and issue work orders, distribute among maintenance techs and ensure that work will be completed by the assigned deadline. Manage work flow in accordance with production needs and confirm with production manager.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintenance work orders as scheduled or on demand and record all activities.
  • Collaborate with executive management to inform if work will not be done as scheduled or significant maintenance issues.
  • Maintains positive work relationships and demonstrates exceptional customer service with maintenance techs and all employees
  • Ensure maintenance techs perform safe machine operation and follow safety protocols including proper lock out/tag out procedures
  • Coordinates department budget, verifying and promoting appropriate use of staff, materials, supplies and vendors. Standardizes cost effective measures, inventory control, and standards of performance and productivity for continuous improvement.
  • Select external vendor and contractors when needed.
  • Performs related work as requested.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Maintenance Manager must be flexible due to the non-routine nature of this position. Will need to fill in for maintenance techs when staffing is minimal.
