Role Overview The Facilities Maintenance Technician I/II is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the upkeep of the Credit Union’s facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures all locations remain safe, clean, and operational to support an excellent member and employee experience. Salary: Level I: $19.32 – $24.15 per hour Level II: $21.52 – $26.90 per hour New hires are typically brought in between the range minimum and maximum based on qualifications, internal equity, and budget. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Level I Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, furniture, and fixtures. Assist with monitoring and upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Conduct regular inspections and report safety concerns. Support preventative maintenance schedules and recordkeeping. Assist with building security systems under supervision. Respond to service requests promptly and professionally. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Assist with vendor coordination during service visits. Perform basic grounds keeping tasks (trash removal, light landscaping, snow/ice management). Support event setup and teardown. Adhere to safety procedures and compliance requirements. Assist with SDS compliance, asset management, and records retention audits. Other duties as assigned. Level II (Includes Level I responsibilities) Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, lighting, security). Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Coordinate and oversee vendor work; verify quality and completion. Assist with space planning, branch moves, and small renovation projects. Maintain facility work order system and documentation. Support minor IT/AV setup and troubleshooting. Perform annual audits of physical assets. Monitor and restock maintenance supplies and inventory. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and fire/life safety standards. Level II: 3–5 years in facilities maintenance or building operations; multi-location experience preferred. Education Level I: High School Diploma or equivalent. Level II: High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certifications preferred. Skills & Qualifications Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry). Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools. Good communication and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, and stand for extended periods. Work Environment Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to weather, dust, noise, and occasional hazards. Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response.
