Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is facility preventative maintenance, repair, and custodial duties and to work as a cross functional team member with department associates. Requirements Areas of Accountability: 1. Responds to and prioritizes requests from JEM associates for department or individual assistance. Demonstrates leadership and sound judgment in representing JEM and the Operations department. Completes work on a timely basis. Attends and participates in department meetings.* 2. Inspects and cares for interior and exterior of buildings and other structures on a regular basis to determine needed maintenance and repairs. Cleans machining equipment using cleaning solvents, cloths, vacuums, or other equipment. Completes minor HVAC, painting, carpentry and masonry work.* 3. Inspects and cares for equipment on a regular basis to determine needed maintenance and repair.* 4. Performs electrical maintenance, such as replacing and repairing electrical fixtures, and plumbing maintenance, such as replacing and repairing leaking faucets.* 5. Schedules and works with contractors, including electricians and plumbers, on a routine and emergency basis. Demonstrates leadership and sound judgment in representing JEM.* 6. Installs modular offices to accommodate JEM associates. Inspects and cares for office furniture on a regular basis.* 7. Safely uses and maintains appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.* 8. Inventories machine parts and supplies. Purchases hardware, tools and other supplies within budget through local stores or JEM purchasing department.* 9. Removes snow and adds salt to entrances and exits of JEM facilities during the winter.* 10. Serves as a key member of the Safety Committee. * 11. Promotes safe work practices throughout JEM. Provides updates and training to JEM associates regarding safe work practices when needed.* 12. Focuses on the continuous improvement in the areas of facilities maintenance.* 13. Safely operates forklift.* 14. Complies with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements.* 15. Supports JEM’s mission and mission, and exemplifies JEM’s core values daily. * 16. Maintains regular and predictable attendance.* 17. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Valid Driver’s License • Maintains forklift certification
