WHO WE ARE:

The Maritime College of Forest Technology (MCFT) was established in 1946 primarily to retrain and reintegrate returning World War II Veterans into the workforce. Today, MCFT’s focus is on educating future leaders for work in the natural resource sectors within government, industry, private, and non-profit organizations.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

MCFT is looking for a Facilities Manager at the Fredericton Campus. Reporting to the College Administrator, the Facilities Manager will play a key role in ensuring MCFT’s facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This hands-on position involves a variety of task including general repairs, preventable maintenance and responding to service requests across the campus. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety conscious and skilled in a range of maintenance disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Must have a valid NB Driver’s license.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• A Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check are required prior to appointment.

• Perform regular scheduled maintenance inspections of facilities and grounds to identify preventable maintenance.
• Diagnose and perform minor repair issues that arise including minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Identify and resolve minor issues with building systems and equipment that often require troubleshooting and immediate attention.
• Identify workplace/tenant hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Evaluate and respond to maintenance requests from tenants, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, as well as, electrical and water meter readings.
• Snow removal and lawn mowing.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
