JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of facilities management, including mechanical, power systems, and electrical engineering. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing engineers, contractor services, and mobile equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Shift: 6 AM - 2 PM some weekends required

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of facilities management experience, preferably in automotive or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems in an industrial setting.
  • Experience managing vendors, service contracts, and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the facility, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and other critical utility systems.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians, contractors, and custodial staff.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Manage facility infrastructure upgrades and support new equipment installations or line changes.
  • Plan and manage facilities-related budgets, capital projects, and vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to support safety initiatives and plant-wide projects.
  • Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for cost savings and sustainability improvements.
  • Coordinate janitorial services, landscaping, snow removal, and pest control.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, permits, floor plans, and inspections.
