What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage daily operations across multiple facilities, covering both hard and soft services
- Oversee hard services including general building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems
- Oversee soft services including cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management, security and pest control
- Ensure all reactive, planned and corrective maintenance meets contractual, regulatory and industry standards
- Coordinate maintenance programs to uphold site condition, presentation, safety and compliance
- Prepare accurate site documentation including emergency procedures, compliance records and financial summaries
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop capital budgets and maintenance plans
- Monitor contractor and tenant compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements
- Travel to regional and remote sites to conduct inspections and support local teams
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Facilities Management OR relevant trade/technical qualification or FM‑related tertiary qualification
- Bachelor’s degree and/or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Strong capability in planning and managing preventative maintenance programs
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS/Work Order Management systems

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Facilities Manager to lead operations at Edinburgh Parks Distribution Centre, South Australia in a full time permanent role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This is a critical leadership role, responsible for the end-to-end performance of the facility—spanning maintenance delivery, contractor management, asset optimisation, safety, and financial performance. Acting as the primary on-site representative for City, you will play a key role in driving operational outcomes, building strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the site consistently performs at a high level.
You will partner closely with Distribution Centre leadership and internal teams to align facilities management with operational priorities—balancing planned programs with reactive demands while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance asset performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership – Lead all facilities management activities on site, ensuring high performance, reliability, and service delivery
- Contractor & Workforce Management – Oversee contractors and technical teams, ensuring alignment to standards, performance, and safety expectations
- Asset & Maintenance Strategy – Drive preventative maintenance programs and optimise asset lifecycle performance
- Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with site leadership, internal teams, and external partners
- Financial & Commercial Oversight – Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency and value creation
- Health, Safety & Compliance – Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, City policies, and site requirements
- Continuous Improvement – Identify, lead, and deliver initiatives that improve operational efficiency and site performance
- Performance & Reporting – Monitor KPIs, manage workflows, and ensure visibility of performance across key stakeholders
Experience & Expertise:
Essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Facilities Manager or similar leadership role within a large-scale industrial or commercial environment
- Proven experience managing complex sites with multiple stakeholders, contractors, and competing priorities
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and cost optimisation
- Demonstrated experience driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of maintenance, asset management, and facilities operations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Current driver’s licence

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:
- Leadership and development of a small team of Facilities staff
- Management of cleaning/janitorial services
- Management of waste collection services
- Collaboration with senior management team in locating and selecting new facilities as needed
- Selection and ordering of furniture/desks/chairs/etc for our facilities
- Development of preventative maintenance schedules for all serviceable facilities equipment (HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, roller doors, etc.)
- Coordination with contractors as needed to solve facilities related issues and make facilities related upgrades (Electricians, Plumbers, Dry-Wallers, etc.)
- Developing CAD models and/or layouts of our facilities
- Assistance in designing spaces that facilitate efficient collaboration between our staff
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to lead a small team
- NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or other technical discipline
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value
- Experience coordinating with third-party vendors
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience with asset management software
- Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes, such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, generators, or fuel storage systems
- Acute attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
