Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Mechanical Engineer to manage and support critical mechanical systems within our high-tech electronic manufacturing facility and on-site Data Center in Penang. This role is responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of key infrastructure including HVAC, Process Vacuum (PVAC), Process Cooling Water (PCW), Compressed Dry Air (CDA), chilled water systems, and environmental controls for our production and Data Center environments. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations, preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical utility systems including HVAC, PVAC, PCW, CDA, chilled water, and exhaust ventilation systems. Ensure continuous and reliable operation of mechanical infrastructure supporting cleanrooms, manufacturing equipment, and the Data Center (including precision cooling and environmental control systems). Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to maintain optimal environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) in the Data Center according to international standards. Manage contractors and service providers for maintenance, upgrades, and emergency response. Ensure compliance with Malaysian regulatory standards (DOSH, DOE) and internal safety/environmental procedures. Drive energy efficiency and system optimization initiatives across facility and Data Center mechanical systems. Participate in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or utility upgrades, including capacity planning for facility expansion and Data Center growth. Maintain accurate documentation such as P&IDs, SOPs, risk assessments, and maintenance records. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any mechanical-related incidents and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Coordinate with internal stakeholders including manufacturing, equipment engineering, IT, and EHS to ensure system alignment and reliability. Support project execution for mechanical infrastructure. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 4-5 years experience in mechanical facilities management within electronic, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments. Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, PVAC, PCW, CDA, chilled water, and mechanical support systems for Data Centers. Familiar with cleanroom environmental requirements and Data Center cooling systems (e.g., CRAC/CRAH units, hot/cold aisle containment). In-depth knowledge of Malaysian regulatory compliance (DOSH, DOE). Experience using Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced and mission-critical environment. Able to support 24/7 operations and respond to emergencies when required. Preferred Qualifications DOSH-registered Competent Person or other relevant certification. Experience with energy conservation, green building practices, or LEED certification. Exposure to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Data Center infrastructure standards (e.g., ASHRAE, Uptime Institute). Familiar with IT infrastructure requirements and environmental controls in Tier-rated Data Centers. Why Join Us?
