We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facilities Mechanical Operations Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and preservation of mechanical equipment in a mission-critical facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC, boilers, chillers, AHUs, RTUs, cooling towers, and pumps, and will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, operational readiness, and compliance with client procedures. Responsibilities: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on operating equipment in alignment with client guidelines and standard procedures. Create and upload documentation/files for equipment entering the client’s operational system. Conduct preservation activities on non-operating equipment to maintain readiness and system integrity. Perform safe state verification and complete sign-off for non-operating equipment. Escalate vendor-required preservation activities to FCE/FFO teams to facilitate vendor site visits. Partner with central engineers to review escalations, validate equipment preservation checklists, and resolve technical issues. Respond promptly to equipment shutdowns and alarms, escalating to central engineers when required. Perform facility rounds and record readings on non-automated equipment and systems to confirm operational compliance. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. Skills Required: 1–2 years’ hands-on experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment in a mission-critical facility (HVAC, boilers, chillers, AHUs, RTUs, cooling towers, pumps). Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Knowledge of safety practices, lockout/tagout, and operational procedures in critical environments. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, respond to alarms, and act quickly in high-pressure situations. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records. Education / Licenses / Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, or related field preferred, but not required. Relevant technical certifications (HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems) are an advantage. Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
