Facilities Operations Specialist 2 duties include: serve as building coordinator and respond to emergency and maintenance building and equipment issues; coordinate space assignments, custodial requests, repairs, maintenance, office moves, procurement needs, and renovation projects within Cunz Hall or College of Public Health designated space; Collaborates with the Dean, Associate Deans, and Assistant Dean to assess current and future space needs; Develops, implements, and maintains space guidelines for the College to support strategic planning and efficient utilization; communicate with OSU facilities team, outside contractors, faculty, staff, students and others to research and resolve issues and schedule, track, and coordinate, and communicate status updates throughout a project to completion; serve as primary point of contact for FOD contractors, security, police, fire, and utilities inspectors; maintain capitalized-equipment inventories and audits, physical access management and controls; coordinate asset management tasks including tagging, auditing and surplus of assets and surplus property; Leads the planning, execution, and completion of the College’s annual Asset Physical Custody Report (APCR) ensuring accuracy and compliance with university requirements; partner with Office of Technology and Digital Innovation to execute the Managed Information Technology services (MITS) service level agreement and assists with planning to align technology infrastructure and projects with the College’s strategic goals (e.g., device upgrades, server access, and space utilization); serve as co-chair to college’s Facilities Committee which serves in an advisory capacity to study, clarify, and formulate policy and procedures related to the allocation and management of physical assets and facility resources; Develops, updates, and implements College facilities policies and oversees projects as determined by the Facilities Committee, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective operational execution; facilitate exiting employee office clean-up and new employee office set up which includes, furniture, phone, IT equipment, and building access; manage/respond to space requests from students, faculty, staff and visitors; Coordinates and supports College events, including planning, logistics, building access, safety, and space utilization; coordinate the Emergency Action Plan and Business Continuity Plan by updating and disseminating annually after leadership approval; Serve as the Business Continuity Representative for the college and lead the annual review process in alignment with University policies; Supervises student worker(s) and delegates operational responsibilities, including administrative supplies, mail, printing, and file management; Maintains Facilities website and Teams repository, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information; Assists with operations of Wet Laboratories, including equipment procurement and disposal, space assignment, preventative maintenance, asset inventory, and program administration (e.g., lab coats, swipe access audits); perform other duties as assigned. Works autonomously to ensure smooth building operations and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Position requires weekend, nights, and/or holiday hours as necessary to respond to emergency facility issues.
