Position Summary: PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Operations Tech - Level 4. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) REQUIREMENTS:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Pre-employment respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

EDUCATION:

  • Required: High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
  • Preferred: Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4.5 years of related work experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC in an industrial manufacturing facility environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Experience utilizing a scheduling software

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs using standard equipment and hand tools with moderate supervision.
  • Performs well defined trouble shooting and repair on facilities equipment with moderate supervision
  • Effectively works with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure they adhere to work rules set forth by PENA with moderate supervision
  • Intermediate knowledge to detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • First Responder. Be able to move rapidly through the factory to any of the manufacturing areas that may require an operations response.
  • Be able to assess a utility outage and take corrective measures needed to rectify situation.
  • Regularly interfaces with Engineering, Construction and other work groups including PECNA Tenants
  • Maintains appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) checklists
  • Adheres to all safety and company policies, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Utilizes CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting
  • Intermediate skills and abilities of electrical & mechanical equipment and components including but not limited to the following systems:
  • Compressed Air
  • Electrical
  • High Pressure Compressed Air
  • Exhaust
  • Dry Air
  • Dust collection
  • Process Vacuum
  • Nitrogen
  • Deionized water
  • Process Cooling Water
  • Hot Reverse Osmosis Water
  • nMP and electrolyte
  • Must be moderate in more than one mechanical/technical construction trade: Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Boiler Maker, HVAC Journeyman/Mechanic highly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of hand-held measuring devices, take readings for dew point, temperature, relative humidity, air flow, ampacity, pressure, and particulates.
  • Must possess moderate skill with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Be able to read and identify equipment and fault areas on blueprints.
  • Be able to draft, approve, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP) and Job Safety Analysis
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required repairs and service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area
  • Ability to work all scheduled shift hours
  • Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area.
