It is considered “at will” and shall serve at the discretion of the Department Head. This is not a permanent appointment. ABOUT REAL ESTATE DIVISION:
The Real Estate Division is comprised of a team of over 220 full-time staff delivering professional real estate services to a variety of clients. The Division completes appraisals and analysis of real property considered for City sale, lease, development or acquisition, and acts as a real estate consultant to Departments, the Mayor, and the Board of Supervisors.
We have responsibility for: Acquisition of all real property required for City purposes; Sale of surplus real property owned by the City; Leasing of property required by various City departments; Operations at the Alemany Farmers’ and Flea Markets (100 Alemany), and); Custodial and engineering services for various City departments at over 60 different locations; Full-service property management services to over 4,000,000 square feet of city-owned offices, including City Hall, 1 South Van Ness Avenue, 49 South Van Ness, and the Hall of Justice.
Job Description
The Facilities Security Systems Analyst (1052) coordinates the management of access control and security surveillance systems throughout various buildings across San Francisco. This position reviews existing and proposed equipment and security system conditions in existing and new RED facilities, analyzing operational and equipment needs, optimizing security systems to be installed in new buildings, identifying necessary updates or improvements, implementing proposed recommendations, troubleshooting and maintaining related software and hardware, coordinating with users, vendors and purchasing personnel to procure equipment and services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely-related field].
Experience:
One (1) year in the information systems field, including technical support, content management, administration of network applications or system analysis.
Substitution:
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in one of the fields above or a closely related field.
Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.
