Summary: The Facilities Engineer is a high-level technical role responsible for the tactical execution of maintenance, repair, and infrastructure improvement projects. This position supports the Facilities Manager by providing deep technical expertise in Mechanical, Engineering, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with a specific focus on piping integrity and utility reliability. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level strategic planning and hands-on site management, ensuring that facility upgrades and expansions are completed without interrupting manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: * Leakage & Failure Response: Act as the primary technical responder for piping system failures (leaks, bursts, pressure drops). Identify root causes and execute rapid recovery plans. * Utility System Oversight: Manage and optimize complex utility networks including process water, compressed air, steam, and drainage systems. * Preventive Maintenance (PM): Develop and implement detailed PM schedules for mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life. * Design & Blueprint Review: Evaluate architectural and mechanical drawings for new building expansions, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with existing infrastructure. * Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Predict construction costs, review contractor quotes (BOQ), and manage project expenses to ensure financial alignment. * Operational Continuity: Establish and execute construction plans that allow for facility growth or repairs without impacting ongoing plant production. * Maintenance Crew Management: Directly lead and supervise on-site resident maintenance vendor. * Detailed Work Planning: Establish specific, step-by-step repair protocols and safety plans for contractors to ensure high-quality results. * Safety & Compliance: Monitor all field activities to ensure strict adherence to safety standards and rapid completion of tasks. * Electrical Awareness: Provide secondary support for electrical systems and power distribution issues, collaborating with electrical specialists when integrated failures occur. * Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate "as-built" drawings and maintenance logs to ensure a reliable facility database. * This role supports essential manufacturing and construction operations and may require working extended hours, weekends, or participating in coordination meetings outside standard business hours to support project execution and global collaboration when required. * Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations * Follow established emergency communication protocols and escalate incidents to appropriate personnel according to company procedures. * Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standard. * Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain * Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container * Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field. * Professional certifications such as CAPM or PMP preferred. Experience: * 5-10 years of experience in industrial facility management or heavy mechanical construction. * Proven track record in managing large-scale piping systems and mechanical infrastructure. * Experience in factory expansion or renovation projects within an active production environment. Work Authorization: * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.   Skills: * Expertise in Mechanical Systems: Deep understanding of pumps, valves, HVAC, and industrial piping. * Drawing & Software: High proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to interpret complex MEP and Civil blueprints. * Cost Management: Strong ability to estimate material/labor costs and negotiate with technical vendors. * Problem-Solving: Ability to make quick, technical decisions during facility emergencies (e.g., major leaks). * Communication: Clear ability to translate manager-level goals into field-level instructions for contractors. * Proactive Mindset: Highly organized with a focus on safety and "zero-impact" construction planning. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours: * Safety glasses * Steel-toed shoes * Nitrile gloves * Ear protection * Cleanroom suit Must be able to perform the following activities repeatedly for periods of up to 12 hours: * Lift, push, and pull materials or equipment * Stoop, twist, and bend * Reach overhead * Sit and/or stand for extended periods * Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems   Work Environment:  * Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals. * Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment. * Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory. * Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas. * Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment.
