Description Job Title: Facilities Staff Job Status: Full-Time, 12 Months Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Department: Operations Reports to: Director of Operations Job Summary TKA is a Christ-centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for a Facilities Staff who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a level of cleanliness throughout the campus and to support the school’s operations. The Facilities Staff is a critical position at the school, as they ensure the campus is clean, well-maintained, and safe. Requirements Essential Job Functions Regular Activities Executes work orders according to daily schedule; records and reports result of each task Occasionally cleans and maintains school property and equipment; picks up trash as needed Keeps all facilities clean in appearance Frequently operates heavy machinery (eg forklifts, floor polisher, power blowers, etc) Sweeps and power washes blacktops, sidewalks and other school areas as needed Moves and adjusts furniture and equipment Assists with traffic by directing vehicles and pedestrians to ensure a safe pick-up Locks and unlocks doors, gates, windows, and storerooms as authorized Sweeps and hoses down blacktops, sidewalks, play and eating areas, power blows track, landscape areas, rooftops, and other school areas. Prepares rooms for meetings by setting up tables and chairs (and breaking down setup) Performs a variety of custodial duties, cleaning, and other manual tasks Assists in providing security for buildings and grounds. Will contact proper authority for assistance if needed. May escort authorized and unauthorized persons in and from buildings and grounds Ensure management is informed of vandalism, theft, fire damage, flood damage, and identifies, records, and reports maintenance needs Qualifications Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent required Valid California Driver’s License Skills and Abilities Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in written form Able to work both independently and in a team setting Demonstrated ability to lead by example Proficiency with Google Suite preferred Ability to learn new computer software systems Self-starter; exercises initiative in both expected and unexpected tasks Manages time wisely, remaining productive while working independently Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods Able to work both independently and in a team setting Core Characteristics Commitment to loving and serving Jesus Christ and supporting the school’s mission Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Positive, flexible, resourceful, and solution-oriented Able to understand, love, and relate to students Must be active in or pursuing community in a local Christian body of believers Must have compatible theology in line with TKA's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work performed indoors and outdoors, at heights to include on roofs, in all weather conditions, and year-round Use of ladders, power tools, and heavy machinery (forklift, carts, etc) Lifting and transporting heavy objects up to 75 pounds Working required hours and being available during non-working hours as needed; may be required to respond to emergency calls in a timely fashion Work will be performed on campus and require moving throughout the campus Work is generally performed Year Round Swing Shift M-F 2:30-11:00 pm This position will occasionally require you to work weekends and overnights (for trips/events).
