JOB SUMMARY

This position will provide strategic management and oversight for all District campus facilities. In collaboration with District management, you will manage MnDOT District 2’s Facility Maintenance program and will be solely responsible for implementing facility program activities, achieving, and monitoring facility program outcomes, and making facility program revisions. This position directs, manages, and prioritizes the work of skilled trades staff, custodial and district labor forces needed to complete the work. This position has total field level authority to make decisions, often with time constraints due to issues of security, fire protection, integrity, and functional use of all facilities. It will require a strong working relationship with District functional groups, State Patrol, DVS, Greenview, Central Office Facility Management Group, Consultants and Contractors.
Please note: This position may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years of supervision or leadwork direction of staff in building construction, trades, and building maintenance. The definition of project direction/supervision should include providing technical training and direction to other staff and planning/coordinating work activities.

EXPERIENCE MUST ALSO DEMONSTRATE:

  • Ability to oversee construction plans and blueprints sufficient to interpret, modify and construct buildings and structures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, construction, steam boilers/pressure vessels and structural aspects of facilities.
  • Knowledge of local and state building, plumbing and electrical codes, regulatory compliance, and Mn/DOT and OSHA safety standards.
  • Minnesota Boiler Engineer Chief Class C License or Minnesota Class A Master Electrician License
