Description General Summary: Provides best in class service to our diverse range of residents with the completion of maintenance needs for Goodwill’s ten residential properties in Dane and Jefferson County. Empowered to use their judgement when professionally addressing residents on facility challenges. Provides equipment inspection, painting, light custodial work, maintenance, and repairs to ensure property meets standards, and insight to prevent future damage or expense. Adheres to Goodwill’s mission as a guiding principle while performing duties. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Complete a diverse and high volume of maintenance work order requests as assigned or observes when at a location. Empowered by management to engage a specialist when needed to fulfill the request. Maintains and implements prescribed cleaning standards. Aides in daily, weekly and quarterly cleaning schedules to ensure a welcoming, clean and safe environment for staff, participants and guests. Share pertinent updates on the status of work orders with management or the individual who requested the work/service. Regular communication with the Facilities & Real Estate Director & team to ensure efficient workflow, as well as hand-offs of work orders and cleaning tasks. Orders supplies, parts and equipment needed to complete maintenance orders. Maintains condition of tools, supplies, products and equipment for the department. Minimizes the possibility of theft. Maintains an organized and clean maintenance department work area in accordance with established standards. (i.e. Storage efficiency, securing items safely, and proper labeling of equipment stored in the area.) Assists with completion of annual ADA compliance inspections for all sites. Works independently and within a team environment. Always demonstrate a responsive and respectful attitude to our Goodwill customers. This includes donors, shoppers, contributors, vendors, visitors, as well as Goodwill employees. Performs maintenance and repairs on interior and exterior of facilities to include, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, building/ facility maintenance, and HVAC. Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs of equipment used in facility and operations. Ability to learn methods, practices and procedures used in the maintenance field. Skilled in use and care of standard maintenance tools. Familiar with Microsoft Office. Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service. Valid driver’s license good driving record and proof of insurance. Travel Required: Use of company vehicle for daily travel to different worksites, as needed. Required education and/or work experience: High school diploma or equivalent 3 years’ experience as a facilities technician, maintenance or similar experience is preferred.
