Description Position Scope: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician I is responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance operations. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with basic maintenance tasks, responding to work orders, and learning building systems while ensuring facilities remain safe, clean, and operational. This position works under supervision and is expected to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of facility operations. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: • Basic understanding of general maintenance practices (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems preferred). • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Preferred Experience and Skills: • Strong willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians and leadership. • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance protocols. Preferred Qualification(s): • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field. • Familiarity with work order systems. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certifications in maintenance-related fields are a plus. Essential Job Functions: • Perform routine maintenance tasks—assist with HVAC checks, basic electrical work, plumbing repairs, and general building upkeep. • Respond to work orders—complete assigned maintenance requests accurately and in a timely manner. • Support troubleshooting efforts—assist in identifying and resolving facility issues under guidance of senior technicians. • Maintain safety standards—follow all safety guidelines, building codes, and company procedures. • Assist with facility inspections—help identify potential issues and preventative maintenance needs. • Keep work areas organized—maintain tools, equipment, and workspace cleanliness. Leadership Responsibilities: • No direct leadership responsibilities; supports team objectives and collaborates effectively with others. • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to grow into more advanced responsibilities over time. • Experience using Stowers CMMS platform (Vivantio) or similar system for tracking and closing work orders. Physical and Mental Requirements: • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and push or pull up to 100 lbs. • Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Work Environment: • Fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. • May require occasional nights or weekends based on facility needs. • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial environments.
Responsibilities
