Description

FlagShip Lab Services is seeking a Life Science Facility Technician to join our dynamic and growing division in Cambridge, MA.
Working for a dynamic multi-tenant Life Science building and reporting to the Facility Manager, a successful candidate will coordinate and/or perform the preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of utility systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance with complete oversight of building automation system. Supervises custodial staff, contractors, and employees as designated. Provides best-in-class customer service.
Hours: 2:00pm-10:30pm M-F

Essential Functions:

  • Determines the scope of requested work. Communicate with work requestor as required for complete clarity of requested work to be performed. Keeps the communication to the stakeholders updated with the information on request status.
  • Plans all work ensuring equipment availability and that work orders have parts, labor, job steps, applicable safety permits, etc.
  • Interact with functional peer groups at various management levels.  Routinely interact with lab personnel, maintenance, metrology, engineering, and EH&S groups in a planning/scheduling capacity.
  • Develop, revise, and review task plans and PM schedules as required for planned maintenance.
  • Facilitate spare parts transactions in maintenance management system.
  • Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level.
  • Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ensure timely completion of scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration work.
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering or similar preferred.
  • Relevant experience with and knowledge of building management control systems (i.e. Johnson Controls, Tridium, Siemens, etc.)
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • HVAC and Facilities
  • Strong Knowledge of Building Management System (BMS) platforms desired.
  • Strong knowledge of air handling systems, heating systems and exhaust systems desired.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to clearly and positively communicate with owners, tenants, vendors and/or customers.
  • Ability to read building codes, blue prints and drawings.
  • Demonstrated computer competencies.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Availability for 24/7 On-Call schedule required.
  • Small-to-large office environment.
  • Fast paced work environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products and noise.

Climb a ladder to perform repairs.
