Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • All daily checks and paperwork are completed.
  • Regularly monitor the Plant overview system for faults and action these in a timely manner to prevent further escalation
  • Produce permits for contractors, checking RAMS meet the criteria required for the task.
  • Monitor and oversee the work of contractors, ensuring they follow site health and safety procedures.
  • Breakdowns are attended as a priority, fault is identified and rectified to ensure a quick turnaround.
  • Breakdown completion to be recorded on the CMMS (HolisTech) system.
  • Perform building and fabric repairs and modifications when required e.g. door handles, fridge doors, walls and barriers and general site fabrication.
  • CMMS (HolisTech) system is checked daily for work orders / PPM’s / Breakdowns.
  • Fabrication/Work Orders completion to be recorded on the CMMS (HolisTech) system.
  • PPMs for refrigeration are generated and completed by the end of the week allocated.
  • PPM Obtainment, and completion to be recorded on the CMMS (HolisTech) system.
  • Support the site management team with identifying, planning, and delivering projects that improve site operations. Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, safely, and to a high standard, with clear communication and minimal disruption to production.
  • Assist the Engineering and Site Services team with other site-based tasks, when needed, this could include but not limited to; fire alarm testing, DAF plant maintenance & Repair, boiler checks or repairs, permitting and overseeing contractors, performing building and fabric repairs and repairs to fridge doors and building fabric.
  • Daily handovers to be completed by end of shift with Engineering managers, breakdowns, issues outstanding and issues in progress to be communicated.

EXPERIENCE

  • Multiskilled Refrigeration Engineer who has experience with Freon, CO2 and Ammonia refrigerants, as well as a strong electrical background and good mechanical ability.
  • Category 1 FGAS Certificate with previous on-the-job experience (does not need to include hydrocarbons or M.A.C)
  • Preferably experienced working with Ammonia.
  • Preferably experienced working with CO2.
  • A minimum of a level 2 Refrigeration related qualification
  • A minimum of a Level 2 Electrical qualification preferably with industrial experience
  • PLC knowledge an advantage but not a necessity
  • A good mechanical ability ideally with a level 2 or greater certification
  • Previous experience working in complex electrical control panels of all voltages both with and without the presence of drawings.
  • Experience working with inverters.

KEY SKILLS

  • Good literacy & numeracy skills
  • Good computer competency in MS Office and CMMS systems
  • Able to fault find when given a breakdown or work order.
  • Prioritising, taking into consideration both H&S and food safety risks.
  • Good communication skills, including accurate and concise in delivery of information such as relaying instructions/ reports effectively.
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Team oriented to enable production and engineering department to reach targets.
  • Can demonstrate a logical approach to fault diagnosis.
