JOB SUMMARY:

The Facilities Technician supports the daily operations of the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) by performing routine building maintenance, coordinating vendor service calls, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for families. This hands-on role involves light maintenance tasks such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs, as well as housekeeping responsibilities like preparing guest rooms. As a vital part of the Guest Services team, the Facilities Technician serves as an Ambassador of RMHC-CTX, providing excellent customer service to guests, families, and visitors.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1–3 years of experience in facilities and maintenance repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, sheetrock, plumbing, painting, and cabinetry.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, and use hands for tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires vision for close, distance, and peripheral tasks.
  • Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities

MAINTENANCE AND HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks for the facilities, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • Work closely with the House Operations Director on construction, renovation, and repair projects to meet health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate vendor service calls and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Prepare guest rooms for families, including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
  • Repair and treat structural issues such as walls, doors, trim, showers, floors, and sinks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of facilities, including landscaping, courtyards, and mechanical spaces.
  • Support key inventory management and the pop tab collection program.
  • Assist with the maintenance of RMHC CTX vehicles, including cleaning, registration, and repairs.

GUEST RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as an Ambassador and Concierge, providing high-level guest service to all who enter the RMH.
  • Inspect, clean, and organize guest rooms and common areas as needed.
  • Support the Guest Services team by answering phones and covering the front desk when required.
