Description

Position Description: Performs duties to maintain building and grounds; perform general housekeeping repairs and installations; and conduct scheduled safety audits of safety related equipment through the entire facility. Primary Responsibilities: * Ensure the building facilities are in good working order and meet expectations * Perform general installations or repairs including but not limited to plumbing, lighting – inside and out, painting, and general carpentry * Repair cook racks and dollies daily to ensure availability for production * Perform and document weekly inspections of eye wash stations and makes needed repairs * Perform and document monthly fire extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections making any needed repairs * Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations * Keep walkways clear of snow and ice, maintain emergency exits making sure they are accessible * Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: * High school graduate or equivalent * Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual (Spanish) preferred * Proficient in plumbing, electrical, painting, assembly and repairs * Valid state driver’s license * Able to work overtime and weekends as needed * 3 – 5 years related building maintenance experience preferred * Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred Physical Requirements * Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds on a regular basis * Able to tolerate extreme temperatures * Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis * Able to climb, crouch, kneel and crawl on an occasional basis to service variety of equipment This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
