Overview We are looking for a reliable and proactive Facility Assistants to join our operations team and help ensure the smooth daily functioning of our hockey arena. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment for hockey games, public skating sessions, and special events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, mechanically inclined, and enthusiastic about working in a dynamic sports and facility setting. This role pays an hourly rate of $17.20-$19.70 CAD Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain the overall condition and functionality of the facility, including the ice rink, locker rooms, restrooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces. Perform routine/minor repairs to ensure all areas meet operational standards. Assist with the preparation, setup, and breakdown of arena spaces for hockey games, public skating sessions, private rentals, and special events. Coordinate with management to ensure proper facility readiness and support throughout each event. Operate facility equipment as required. Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with OSHA guidelines, fire codes, and other relevant health and safety regulations. Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs in a timely manner. Participate in safety training and emergency response procedures. Provide friendly and knowledgeable support to visitors, athletes, and staff during events and open hours. Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience. Resolve issues and concerns in a courteous, timely, and effective manner. Qualifications Ability to mobilize quickly and for long durations Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional during business hours Must be able to work in a loud noise environment Must be able to work in cold environments Strong verbal communication skills in the English language Proven ability to work well with all levels of management Strong work ethic and personal integrity Ability to lift up to 50-150 lbs for short periods Experience with ice resurfacer operations would be considered an asset Strengthened by our Differences.
