We are seeking an experienced Facility Leader to oversee our flagship civic venue, Town Hall Broadmeadows, and key supporting community facilities within the Southern Precinct of Hume. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic, community‑facing environments and takes pride in delivering high‑quality civic and community experiences. What you’ll be doing: Lead operations at Town Hall Broadmeadows as Hume’s flagship civic venue, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, and professionally presented. Provide operational oversight of other designated Community Facilities within the Southern Precinct including civic spaces within the Hume Global Learning Centre Broadmeadows. Coordinate civic functions, events, and community activities, including venue set‑ups, pack‑downs, and on‑site function management. Manage bookings, hirer relationships, contractors, and security arrangements. Develop and implement strategic and operational plans that reflect local priorities and community needs. Oversee WHS, maintenance, and risk management across all facilities. Lead and support facility staff and contractors to deliver high‑quality customer service. Work closely with internal Council teams and community stakeholders to maximise facility use and community outcomes. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and operation of community facilities, including supervision of events and functions Clear commitment to community development and working effectively with diverse communities Demonstrated financial and administrative capability, including contract management and reporting requirements Well‑developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Proven customer service capability, with the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Experience developing and implementing strategic or action plans within municipal or community‑based settings Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to a wide range of audiences Required Certifications & Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Sciences, Recreation, or Venue Management, or substantial relevant experience in the community sector.
